Student Service and Leadership

Samuel 12:24 “serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.”

We have a wide range of leadearship roles available to our students:

Student LeaderYear 6 student.  Chair the meetings of the school council.  Represents school at a variety of events and thank visitors that come to our school.

Deputy Student LeaderYear 6 student.  Assist the Student Leader and in the absence of the Student Leader is required to act as their substitute.  

Class Representative of the Student CouncilRepresentatives from all year levels.  They gather the ideas of the students in their class at the Student Council meetings.  

House CaptainYear 6 students.  Leading their house colour at whole school sporting events.  At break-times they organise the sports trolley and assist the Sports teacher. 

EnvironmentalYear 6 students.  Student leaders for the gardening club and participate in the annual waste audit.  Oversee and keep the school on track with recycling initiatives.

LibrarianYear 6 students.  Assist teachers in charge of the library.  Help to promote reading in the school.

Special CharacterYear 6 students.  Lead Liturgy assemblies and help plan and prepare liturgies and special events throughout the year.  Be active at school masses, i.e. candles, booklets.

JournalistYear 6 students.  Reporting about events occurring throughout the school for both the school newsletter and the school Yearbook.  

Cultural Leader Year 6 students.  Promote cultural activities during cultural weeks

Peer MediatorsYear 6 students.  Support students in the playground.  Help students who have friendship issues by being a good listener and a fair mediator.  Ask for teacher support if the problem cannot be resolved.

Leadership Level Badges:

We have levels within Leadership and Service with the expectation that at the end of the year all our leaders will have had the opportunity to achieve level 3 in service and leadership.  

These levels are not compulsory, but are available if an individual student wants to develop their leadership skills throughout the year.

Our leaders will be role models at all times displaying our school values of respect, care and honesty.

LEVEL 1 – WHITE BADGE (completing expectations)

LEVEL 2 – SILVER BADGE (independance)

LEVEL 3 – GOLD BADGE (initiative/reflection)
