About us

Welcome, Kia Ora to Marist Catholic School, Herne Bay – We are a State-Integrated Catholic Primary School with a maximum roll of 300 students. We take students from Year 0 to 6. In Year 7, our students go on to a variety of schools. Mainly to St Mary’s College, St Paul’s College and St Peters College. We aim to provide our students with a wide range of learning opportunities in core curriculum areas and various extracurricular activities. As our school has grown and progressed over the last 95 years, we are proud of the continued high expectations of behaviour, the embodiment of our school values, the strong academic achievement, and past and present achievements.

Mission & Vision

MISSION STATEMENT:
Committed to excellence in education while thinking, feeling and acting in the way of Mary.

VISION STATEMENT:
With the loving, faith-filled support of their whanau, school and parish, our Marist tamariki reach their potential and encounter Christ in all they do.

Our Charism

With these words to guide us we strive to be, first and foremost, a person who says ‘Yes” as Mary did.
We strive to live a life true to the Gospel values as Mary did. We encourage each other, support each other, respect each other and most importantly, look to Mary our Mother, in times of adversity.

You will find our school to have a warm, friendly atmosphere. Our staff are hard-working and committed to the growth of all of our students – academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

The Board of Trustees are dedicated to supporting all areas of the schools governance. As Principal of Marist Catholic School Herne Bay, you will find me to be open, keen to listen and engage with you and your whanau. I look forward to an open and warm relationship with you and your family over the time that you are associated with our beautiful school.

Please feel free to make contact if I can be of any assistance.
